has tasked bakers with some difficult technical over the years and now judge Paul Hollywood has admitted that they’ve been a bit too harsh on previous contestants.
The last nines series has seen hopefuls challenged to make tasty but complex treats ranging from pretzels, jam doughnuts, chocolate souffle and raspberry blancmange.‘It’s been interesting to come up with some unusual things this year – the challenges I think have been scaled back a little bit,’ Paul said.‘I thought sometimes we’ve been running away with some of the challenges being too difficult.
‘But if you make them too difficult people will go not interested, “I was with you right up until that point and then you’ve lost me.”‘Co-host Prue Leith added that sometimes the most seasoned baker finds themselves stumped when tasked with the show’s difficult technicals.
