Paul O'Grady fans in tears as BBC air special BlanketyBlank tribute episode
Paul O'Grady fans were moved to tears after an old episode of Blankety Blank, hosted by Paul’s famous drag alter ego Lily Savage, aired on Saturday night, 1 April.And to honour the late star's memory, the BBC aired an old Blankety Blank episode on Saturday night from September 1998, which also featured guest appearances from Davina McCall, Sir Ian McKellen, Gray O’Brien, Rebecca Callard, Sophie Lawrence and Dale Winton.
“Loved watching #BlanketyBlank tonight. We lost not one but two people, Paul and Lily. The showbiz world isn't the same without them,” wrote on viewer. A third went on: “#BlanketyBlank The wonderful Paul O'Grady he will be missed by all, his love, compassion, and empathy he had for everyone now a bright star in the sky”.
Paul’s heartbroken husband Andre Portasio confirmed the news of the TV star’s passing earlier this week.
