Andre Portasio has opened up on his final moments of the late Lily Savage star with more than 320 guests attending the memorial service in Bloomsbury Ballroom in London.
TV icon Paul O'Grady spent his final moments 'lighting a spliff' before passing away in his chair, his grieving husband Andre Portasio said at a memorial service seven months following his tragic passing.
The late entertainer previously joked he was 'counting his blessings' in regard to staying healthy and claimed it would be a 'miracle' if he reached the age of 60, according to reports in the Mirror. “We’d had a very ordinary day, just watching TV together at home, when Paul said he wanted to make a ‘cup of tea,’ and that was our little code for rolling a spliff," he told the audience. “So Paul went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea, brought it back, lit it and started smoking it – and that was our last time together, the last thing we did. He passed away there in his chair.”
"The next day, Paul called me and said, ‘How did you find the soup?’ and laughed hysterically. God knows what he’d put in it!"
