The Benfica midfielder has signed a season-long loan deal with the Premiership champions and got some minutes in the tank for his nation's U21 side against Andorra ahead of a potential Parkhead bow against Dundee next weekend. Bernardo started the 3-0 win and met the press after the match, as he kept his lens focused on Portugal.
But it wasn't all pats in the back and congratulations from the 21-year-old. As an experienced member of the youth squad, he is demanding more from his teammates even after a comfortable stroll.
