The chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Southern District Office was arrested along with two other anti-narcotics agents and a driver after they yielded P9.18 million worth of shabu during a police buy-bust operation in Taguig City.Based on a report that was received by Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft, the four suspects were arrested right at the PDEA Southern District Office on Bonifacio Street in Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig on Dec. 6.
The suspects were identified as PDEA Southern District Office chief Enrique Lucero, agents Anthony Vic Alabastro and Jaireh Llaguno, and driver Mark Warren Mallo. The buy-bust operation was carried out by the National Capital Region Police Office Regional Drug Enforcement Unit together with other operatives.
Seized during the operation were three sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 100 grams valued at P680,000, one plastic of suspected shabu weighing 1,250 grams worth P8.5 million, P1,000 bill mixed with 99 pieces of P1,000 fake bill used as buy-bust money, a .40-caliber pistol and a digital weighing scale.
The suspects are now under the custody of the NCRPO pending the filing of charges against them before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
