Upper Parliament Street was closed for around an hour this evening
A Nottingham city centre road was closed for around an hour after a pedestrian was struck by a tram. The road traffic collision is understood to have happened shortly after 6pm this evening , close to the Royal Centre tram stop.
Due to the incident a section of Upper Parliament Street was closed at it's junction with Market Street. Emergency services, including Nottinghamshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service, attended the scene. The road was blocked following the accident, but had reopened by around 7.15pm. Trams were also not carrying out services between the Royal Centre and Old Market Square stops, but are now travelling to all stops with some delays.A spokesperson for NET Tram stated: "Trams are now running through following a short interruption of service following a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a tram.
