That woman, whose allegations have not yet led to any charges, said she began noticing the girls, aged two and three, showing up for visits with cuts and bruises on their lips and buttocks.Her older daughter began to bleed from her privates and developed a yeast infection, the mother said.
Asked about how she had been hurt, the girl reportedly told her mother ‘she couldn’t tell me becuase she would go to jail or not be able to go home to mommy.’The woman says her attempts to alert the authorities were ignored. She has since moved away from Florida, and says her traumatized daughter is too terrified to use the toilet after being dunked into one by Rios and his wife Nereida.
One other mother who spoke to the Herald-Tribune says a girl she fostered – who had previously been taken in by the Rios’s would cover her privates during bathtime, scream and say ‘Please, mommy, no.’The Rios’s fostered 48 children between 2009 and 2018, when his alleged victim’s mother reported him to police and sparked an investigation into his behavior.Advertisement
