Eleven loans went out of Leeds United in the summer and there are not too many of them with realistic prospects of playing for the Whites again. Marc Roca did not impress in his first season with United as they were relegated from the Premier League, but the Spaniard will have another two years to run on his contract next summer.

That said, he’s done an excellent job of filling in and making that role his own. Even now that Carvalho is returning to fitness, Roca certainly isn’t going to be dropped to the bench and forgotten about.
I don’t think it’s been a surprise. Most Betis fans will remember how good he was at Espanyol and the role he played as part of Spain’s under-21 Euro-winning team in 2019. Where he has had success so far is his off-ball work. I don’t think he gets enough credit for the engine he has and his ability to seemingly run non-stop for 90 minutes without ever really needing a breather.
