Shortly after Rep. Mary Peltola came out in support of Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling on limiting access to a popular abortion pill, Sen. Lisa Murkowski echoed her fellow Alaskan’s thoughts.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

All nine justices ruled that it was illegal for the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine to sue the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of“I was born the same year Roe was decided. Now, 50 years later, in a post Roe world, this ruling affirms what Alaskans already knew to be true – every American has the right to make their own choices about their own bodies,” Peltola said in a statement.

For her part, Murkowski commented: “I was pleased to see that today the Supreme Court unanimously provided certainty for Alaskans who seek access to mifepristone, which has proven to be a safe and effective drug.”
