Nectarios Triantis was punished following a VAR review after a clash with John Souttar.
Hibs have taken aim at Rangers after they were awarded a penalty during their showdown - with pundit Michael Stewart being sent into meltdown by the decision.
With the Scottish Premiership showdown goalless, Nectarios Triantis jumped to head a corner away from danger but was involved in a collision with Ibrox defender John Souttar - who was attacking the ball. Referee David Dickinson initially waved play on before Andrew Dallas in the VAR room sent the man in the middle to the pitchside monitor. A spot-kick would be awarded - sparking the Hibs social media team into a cheeky dig. They posted: "Penalty to Rangers.
Following another quickfire VAR review, Wright's goal would be chalked off for encroachment as he appeared to have a foot in the box when Tavernier struck his penalty. On the decision to punish the Hibs star, raging Stewart told BBC Sportsound: "That is nonsense. "Ok, there is a collision but that's not a penalty kick. If you are giving a penalty for that, I mean give up! The ball is going over his head and Triantis is trying to jump for it, and he has got a booking and a yellow card against him.
"That is a nonsense. He will be feeling hard done by. The thing is if you think that is a penalty kick then you have to understand there is an element of risk, but somebody doesn't have to be blamed. There is a coming together and he is trying to head the ball."
