Another uranium hopeful facing ramp-up issues, restart still on track for end-of-year

It's been a tough week for uranium lovers in the ASX arena, with another production downgrade and subsequent share price slam on Friday morning, this time from Peninsula Energy. The yellowcake hopeful is working to get its flagship Lance project in Wyoming, US, up and running before the end of the year, but with development tracking slower than planned, it has revised its 2025 full-year production guidance to 600,000 lbs from the previous forecast of 700,000-900,000lbs.

At this stage, Peninsula's 2026 and 2027 production projections are not expected to be "materially" impacted by the ramp-up delays. Peninsula's news comes after Paladin Energy earlier this week slashed its own production guidance for its Langer Heinrich mine in Namibia to 3-3.6 million pounds, down from 4-4.5Mlb. Paladin shares retreated nearly 30% in one session on the back of the news.
