The donation is the second largest in Penn State Athletics' history.
Penn State has received its second-largest donation in athletics history, according to a press release Wednesday afternoon. A $25 million dollar gift, courtesy of the Misitano Family and PAM Health, will go toward Penn State’s ongoing $700 million renovations of Beaver Stadium.
“It is a true honor for our family to contribute to the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project,” Anthony Misitano said in a statement. Misitano is a 1977 Penn State alumnus and the founder/CEO of PAM Health. “As lifelong Penn Staters, we’ve had the privilege of building relationships with many coaches, student-athletes and University leaders.
The Misitanos have previously made significant gifts to the Football Excellence Fund and endowed scholarships for field hockey, women’s hockey and women’s basketball, according to the release. On July 22, Penn State announced improved winterization of the stadium; expansions or enhancements of gates A, E and F; and videoboard/ribbon board improvements would be ready by the Sept. 7 home opener. Escalators at gates A and E and new super ribbon boards will be completed sometime during the season. Other operational enhancements will be announced prior to the home opener.
