Armstrong Williams takes on the news of the week and asks the questions you want answered. Don't miss our weekly town hall.Officials in Washington, D.C. are hoping to give more Americans the chance to own a house.

Today at the state capitol, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development announced that it will be awarding more than $10 million to go towards closing the homeownership gap through housing counseling. The funds will be distributed across 23 approved housing agencies. Pennsylvania will see around $479,000 of that funding, which is planned to go towards the PA Housing Finance Agency. Officials hope that those funds here in the Commonwealth will be used towards breaking down what the department sees as barriers for minority groups trying to become homeowners.

Assistant secretary of housing Julia Gordon shared her thoughts on the new funding saying, "We're not just celebrating the awarding of funds; we're celebrating the changing of futures. These awards will bring new opportunities for families to obtain what we often call the American Dream."
