The Keystone State reported $464.5 million in wagers and $43 million in revenue both come in lower than May’s haul.
for online and retail sportsbooks as the summer sports lull took over, but there were also significant rises year-over-year in both categories. The 9.3% hold in June was down from the 10.4% win rate produced in May, but sports betting operators continued to spend big bucks in promotional credits to drum up business.
Off its 34% tax rate on that adjusted revenue, Pennsylvania filled its coffers with $10.2 million to up the year-to-date total above $89 million. The amount wagered in June helped push Pennsylvania’s handle in 2024 to over $4 billion. With June marking the end of the 2023-24 fiscal year in Pennsylvania, sports betting generated wagers of $8.17 billion, up 13.4% from 2023’s handle.
FanDuel led the Keystone State in June with $21.7 million in revenue, down $9.5 million from May’s haul. The state-best $179.2 million handle was boosted by $6.1 million of promo credits, but the online sportsbook still produced a 12.1% hold.
