A 71-year-old man was found with knife wounds after being attacked in the vicinity of the Animalarium.
Police were called to the scene near Borth Wild Animal Kingdom in Wales at around 9.50am on Thursday A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.
Detective Inspector Jon Rees, who is the senior investigating officer, said: ‘There has been a heavy police presence in Borth since this morning and officers remain in the village this afternoon to carry out house to house inquiries and establish more information about the attack. Borth Wild Animal Kingdom have said that customers were not able to access the lions on Thursday due to the incident
‘We made a swift arrest following the report to us and I would like to reassure the community we are not looking for anyone else at this time.‘I understand this is a concerning incident and would encourage anyone who is worried to speak to any police officer or PCSO in the area, who will be happy to help you.’
