Caroline Quibell will be taking on the half marathon in memory of her husband Michael, who died from motor neurone disease.
An 83-year-old pensioner who recently had hip replacement surgery will be tackling the Great North Run in memory of her late husband.
She has taken part in the Great North Run, which covers the 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields, three times before. On how she is feeling ahead of the run, the mother-of-five, who got into the fitness activity when she was 70, told the PA news agency that the training and build-up to the run has been “very emotional”.“I’m nervous. I just hope that I can make the distance.”
