He died of his injuries
An 83-year-old man who was hit by a lorry on a Scots high street earlier on Monday has died of his injuries, police have said.
Images from the scene show police, fire and ambulance crews in attendance, with the street closed in both directions to traffic. Glasgow Live reports that the man was pronounced dead at the scene. In a post on social media, the Lanark Independent Business Group said: "It appears with sad regret that a gentleman has lost his life as a result of a traffic accident on the High Street. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends."
