The Pensions Policy Institute says more research is needed to help people from minority ethnic communities get more from their retirement savings
BETTER PERSONAL finance data needs to be collected if people from Black and minority ethnic communities are not to experience worse pension outcomes than the average white Briton according to a leading finance charity. In a briefing note the PPI said there was some aggregate data across ethnic groups in national surveys, but sample sizes are often insufficient to understand the various factors that affect the outcomes of distinct ethnic groups.
The briefing note said that “with better data and evidence about the lives of people in these groups, informed, strategic policymaking which improves their lives will be possible in a way that it is not today”.
