Family members have left loving messages this week to relatives who have passed away

Stephen Oxford Stephen Oxford passed away on Saturday, September 7 at Belvedere Care Home Accrington, aged 77 years.After living in Bacup, Rawtenstall and then Melling the family came to Accrington. Stephen attended Peel Park and then Hyndburn Park School. She enjoyed dressmaking, rescuing red setters, shopping, picnics and worldwide travel. Kathleen leaves behind her husband Barry, daughter Julie, son-in-law Derek, brother Peter, sister-in-law Sheila based in Australia, nieces Hilary and husband Andrew in Isle of Man.

A requiem mass will be held on Friday, October 18 at St Mary’s R.C. Church, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington at 1pm, celebrated by his brother-in-law FR John Broadley followed by creamtion at Accrington crematorium. At the age of 16 she met John Rex Mullen at Oswaldtwistle Mills, a year later, aged 17, she got engaged, and then got married at aged 19, on Christmas Eve in 1960, at St Andrews Church, on Russia Street in Accrington, whilst John was doing his national service. The couple also lived in Nigeria between 1964 and 1972.

BB5 3DR. Tel: 01254 390542. She was the Chairperson of the Institute of Horticulture Eastern Branch and was also the organiser of the Young Horticulturist of the Year nationwide competition. She also loved browsing round the charity shops looking for a bargain.

The dearly beloved husband to the late Pauline, much loved dad to Karen, Lee and Lisa and son-in-law Chris. Alan also leaves grandchildren Ashleigh, Bailey, Zachery, Georgia, and great-grandchild Ruben, all who miss him dearly, as well as many family and friends.
