The May Day bank holiday falls on Monday, May 1 and payments delivered by HM Revenue and Customs , including Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance, due on that date will be made early next week instead. The Coronation of King Charles III takes place on Saturday, May 6 which means Monday, May 8 will also be classed as a bank holiday. HMRC has confirmed payments due on that date will be made on Friday, May 5. Buckingham Palace said in tribute to the King's public service, the big help out ‘will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas’. The aim of the day is to use volunteering to bring communities together and create a lasting volunteering legacy from the Coronation weekend.
