A woman was amazed to find a special button on her washing machine that made cleaning it much easier. She shared her surprise in a Facebook group called Cleaning tips and tricks, showing pictures of her washing machine drawer before and after she cleaned it.
Faith didn't know the drawer could come out until she pressed a button that released it. When she saw how dirty it was, she cleaned it with hot water, soap, and a toothbrush, Yorkshire Live reports. She posted her results and said: "How on earth did I not know this drawer came out?!" Other people in the group also said they didn't know about the button. Mandy wrote: "They say you learn something everyday..... Well today I learned this thank you x.
Faith told her she uses an old toothbrush for those tricky spots. Emma asked the group: "What causes the blackness behind the drawer? Don't know if I've just been lucky but never had it. I always just use powder." Janine replied, saying fabric softener can cause mould and recommended using white vinegar and lavender oil instead.
Eileen decided to share her wisdom with the rest of them by saying: "Always leave your dispenser drawer slightly open after wash as this helps reduce amount of mould you get." Jayne, finding the whole situation amusing, cracked a joke, saying: "Doesn't anyone read the manuals anymore," complete with a laughing emoji.
