Ahead of winter arriving, as well as higher fuel bills, one quick trick could help you to save money and energy.

It may feel as though summer has barely even arrived here in Scotland, but before know it, the colder months will begin to creep in - bringing higher energy bills along with them.

Taking a good look at the radiators you have in each room could save you a lot of energy - and money - when it comes to using them. A small radiator will take longer to heat a room, and so will have to be on for longer. If a room is poorly insulated, heat could be escaping as quickly as the radiator is putting it out.

It can be tailored to every room in your home and uses BTU - British Thermal Units - which is a reliable measurement that takes into account the unique factors of a home. You can use the BTU heating calculator on the Trade Radiators website. But if you live in a rented property and can't replace your radiators, don't worry - there are plenty of other quick hacks that can help too.
