More than 3.6 million adults across Scotland, England and Wales are receiving payments of up to £737.20 every four weeks to help with the additional costs of living with a disability, long-term illness, or physical or mental health condition. Many people may be unaware that Personal Independence Payment , or Adult Disability Payment for claimants in Scotland, provide support for over 530 health conditions.
PIP cannot be backdated, but payments start from the date the claim was submitted, to cover the handling time at the DWP.
