A new Prime Video romantic drama released is described as having 'immaculate summer vibes' by reviewers, and is expected to captivate fans of Off Campus and The Summer I Turned PrettyA fresh romantic drama series is poised to captivate Off Campus enthusiasts, offering all the surprising plot developments of love and friendship, but featuring an entirely new cast.
Off Campus launched onThe series charts the romance between a music student and the university's leading hockey player, exploring the intricacies of growing up through meaningful friendships and connections. Numerous devotees of the programme have consumed all episodes in a single sitting and were eager to discover a new series that matches the considerable buzz surrounding the romantic drama, which draws from several novels by Elle Kennedy.
Nevertheless, initial critiques have emerged for a new Prime Video romantic drama, with those who adored Off Campus anticipated to embrace the new eight-episode series that dropped today, Wednesday, June 10. Every Year After was created by Amy B. Harris, renowned for her role as a writer and producer on Sex and the City, and Leila Gerstein, who secured an Emmy for her contributions to The Handmaid's Tale, and is adapted from the novel Every Summer After by Carley Fortune.
The book chronicles two lifelong companions examining whether your first love is meant to be your soulmate. It has also drawn comparisons to The Summer I Turned Pretty, which maintained viewers' interest across three seasons. Ambar Driscoll, a self-proclaimed fangirl and founder of The Fangirl Nation, an online podcast and book club, was given early access to the series and cautioned Off Campus enthusiasts that they would be "emotionally destroyed" by Every Year After.

"First of all, it is so good! I have been waiting for this show for so long because I'm so emotionally attached to the book and when you're emotionally attached to a book like that you're obviously nervous about how the screen adaptation is going to be but Prime Video, they know what they're doing because so far it is so good.
"I cried in the first three minutes of the show. Big book reference. If you haven't read the book, I don't think it will hit as hard. But here's what I liked.
"Prime Video clearly have the best budget for soundtracks ever and whoever is doing the soundtracks, give them a raise because this soundtrack is crazy. They clearly love Maggie Rogers, obviously Maggie Rogers was in Off Campus, Noah Kahn, Billie Eilish, Island in the Sun by Weezer. Every song, I was like, this slaps.
"The way they weave in the flashbacks and also the alternate timing is so smart. In the modern day, you have Percy having memories but then you also get the flashbacks which are different to her memories - if that makes sense.
"The way that they weave between them all, it's so well done... like, it doesn't feel shoehorned in. Even the way they do it with the camera angles, I was just like, this is great, fantastic.
"Ambar had encouraging news for devotees of the original novel, revealing that certain passages had been lifted directly from its pages for audiences to savour. She said: "There is word for word book text in this. I haven't read the book in ages, but some things were said and I was like, that is a direct line from the book. Immaculate summer vibes, I want to go to Barry's Bay.
"Young Sam is so little and small and cute. . Guys, it's so good, you're gonna love it. Is it better than Off Campus?
It's a completely different show, it's completely different.
"It's like American Apples and Oranges but as I say, I'm very emotionally attached to this. I love it so far. "
