NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has pledged to provide greater protection and support for renters if re-elected in March.
The changes, if Mr Perrottet is successful at the March 25 polls, will force landlords to provide"reasonable grounds" for eviction and extend notice periods for end of fixed term leases from 30 to 45 days.
“Our ban on solicited rent bidding is already improving affordability for those looking for rentals." “These new measures will provide even greater certainty and flexibility for nearly a million renters across NSW,” the Premier said. A combination of high interest rates, stagnant wage growth, increased house prices and skyrocketing demand has attributed to the growing issue.
