New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet says the Liberal party’s energy policy will include $250 off “every energy bill” for households ahead of the state election next week.

His comments come as the Australian Energy Market Operator warns the state faces looming blackouts and soaring power bills.

“In addition, we have a roadmap – that will drive $32 billion of private sector investment.” Mr Perrottet told Sky News host Sharri Markson. He said the completion of the Narrabri gas pipeline project is also included in the Liberal party’s plans for the state as surveying is “currently occurring” in the area.

“That pipeline itself will supply up to half the needs of businesses and households in New South Wales.”
