999 services were called to the station
Emergency services were called to Lenzie station on Tuesday evening after being alerted to a casualty on the tracks.
ScotRail informed travellers that a person had been hit by a train and that several services were disrupted while 999 crews attended the scene.When police and paramedics arrived, the person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.A British Transport Police spokesperson said:"Officers were called to Lenzie railway station at 6.51pm on 7 March following reports of a casualty on the tracks."The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
