A WA man accused of orchestrating a transnational murder attempt in which his father-in-law was attacked with a machete and shot in the head has faced a court. Shiv Sheetal, 42, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with one count of attempt to murder the 65-year-old in February 2023.
Moment Perth man accused of plot to murder father in-law in India is arrested. WA police say three men attempted to kill the older man at a village in Punjab, India but the gun misfired and he was left with a serious brain injury. It will be alleged Sheetal actively sought the men to murder his father-in-law, in what police describe as a transnational conspiracy. Punjabi police have arrested and charged three people with offences relating to the attack.
