Michael Stephens was sentenced to five years in September
A Blackpool paedophile who groomed a family to gain access to their children could have his sentence reviewed.
If the application is successful, Stephens' case will be referred to the Court of Appeal where his sentence could be increased.On September 13, 2023, Judge Guy Mathieson sentenced Stephens to five years for offences relating to children and breaches of previous orders.
However following his sentence, the Attorney General's Officer received a referral under the Unduly Lenient Scheme. It is currently under consideration and officers have 28 days to make a decision.
