Sky News host Peta Credlin believes the Albanese government is “absolutely heading for minority government” because the Prime Minister is “vulnerable”.
“He is the Prime Minister, but seven out of ten Australians didn’t vote for him at the last election,” Ms Credlin said during The Herald Sun Bush Summit in Bendigo on Monday. “Labor’s got a low 30 per cent primary – the Coalition couldn’t win on a 30 per cent primary – but because they get about 10 to 12 per cent out of the Greens and the preference flows are very orderly across from the Greens to Labor, that gets them over the line.
“First-term governments tend to get the benefit of the doubt from voters, but, I think, because cost of living is a huge issue, it crosses states and territories, demographics, cities and regions … everyone’s hit by cost of living, and the promises from the Prime Minister, particularly on things like energy, were so big going into that campaign, and people are hurting more than they ever were, I think he’s vulnerable.“I think he’s absolutely heading for minority government.
