Reality star Pete Wicks, who recently competed on Strictly Come Dancing, is set to front a new dog-themed documentary called 'Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake' for UKTV channel U+W. The show, premiering in January 2025, explores the work of the Dogs Trust charity, with Pete learning about rehoming centres, assisting with puppy care, and witnessing life-saving operations.
The reality star has been flooded with messages from fans over the latest news, just weeks after missing out on the final of the BBC dancing competition. Pete and his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal became the eleventh couple to leave the competition.
It was previously announced that the former TOWIE star will front an upcoming 'dog-umentary' on UKTV channel U+W in January 2025, with 'Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake' exploring the work done at the Dogs Trust charity in Basildon. He said: "I’ve wanted to make a show like this for about ten years now. Instagram It's since been confirmed tha Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake starts on Tuesday, January 7, at 8pm, all episodes will be available to stream for free on U and across the four episodes, Pete will learn all about how the rehoming centres are run, while he'll also get hands-on with weighing newborn puppies, and getting a close look at life-saving operations. The Dogs Trust ambassador will also visit the charity's centres in West London, Leeds and Ballymena in Northern Ireland.
In the trailer, Pete is heard saying: "I'm going on a journey with some gorgeous dogs from rescue to rehoming." Pete is then brought to tears in the trailer as he meets animals who have been abandoned. He said: "It's hard whenever you see an animal who is not doing great. How could anyone just dump you? That's upset me quite a bit that one if I'm honest with you.
