Pete Wicks, known for his role in TOWIE, shocked himself and the audience when he was announced as one of the finalists in Strictly Come Dancing, despite being the lowest scorer on multiple occasions.
When Tess Daly announced on Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing that Pete Wicks was through to the quarter-finals, even Pete thought she had made a mistake. Bottom of the scoreboard for the third time in four weeks, Pete assumed his time on the show was over. Despite scoring just 29 out of 40 for their tango performance, it was EastEnders actor Elliot John and his partner Michelle Tsiakkas who were eliminated.
Pete expressed his surprise on the Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two, saying, 'I’ve thought I was going since week one, so every week is a surprise, but that is possibly the biggest shocker of the lot.' The public vote has shown that viewers are particularly fond of Pete, despite the judges' comments suggesting he has reached the limits of his dancing ability.
