Local groups can apply now through Cash4Clubs, which has invested nearly £6m into community sports since 2008
Grassroots sports clubs have been invited to apply for a £2,000 cash grant to support their local activities, boost participation, and fund coaching programmes, in a scheme backed by England legends.
"The impact on communities, particularly those in deprived areas, is immeasurable, making grants like Cash4Clubs vital." One notable recipient of a £2,000 grant was Acorn Football Club in Hull the UK's first football team set up specifically for refugees and asylum seekers. The club carved out a niche in history by participating in the UK's first competitive match featuring teams of asylum seekers.
A spokesperson for Flutter UKI said: "We know that Cash4Clubs can play an important part in helping at the grassroots level great stories such as Acorns FC show the power the programme can have by enabling small clubs to play an even bigger role in their community."
