Afterward, Dutton said he was “pleased” to attend and came “with goodwill and respect”. Mayo, a Maritime Union official, described the meeting with Dutton as respectful and comprehensive, saying he wanted to continue dialogue.But Leeser said the opposition wanted an “orthodox” referendum process including a constitutional convention, more consultation and more details about the change.
