Dutton and Leeser were invited to the group’s latest meeting on Thursday as the Liberal party continued questioning the voice. Afterward, Dutton said he was “pleased” to attend and came “with goodwill and respect”. Mayo, a Maritime Union official, described the meeting with Dutton as respectful and comprehensive, saying he wanted to continue dialogue.But Leeser said the opposition wanted an “orthodox” referendum process including a constitutional convention, more consultation and more details about the change.
