A woman ejected from a Peter Kay stand-up show has accused the comedian of bullying after he compared her to actress Lisa Riley. Myar Curran, 25, was removed from the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday evening after shouting 'we love you, Peter' during the performance. Kay responded by stopping his act and directing security to remove her, while also quipping, 'Go on, off you go Lisa Riley.
' Myar, who had travelled from Scotland for the show, claimed the comment was about her weight and left her feeling humiliated and upset. She said she had been sitting near the previous heckler who had been removed for repeatedly shouting 'garlic bread', but had nothing to do with his disruption. Myar, who was attending her first Peter Kay live show, expressed disappointment that the comedian targeted her personally. She emphasized that she wasn't being offensive and that Kay's comment felt like an act of aggression. Myar stated that the experience has left her feeling hurt and disillusioned with Kay's behavior, adding that she will never watch his shows again. In a statement, Peter Kay expressed surprise at being accused of making an insult, claiming he only noticed the resemblance to Lisa Riley and didn't realize it would be offensive. Lisa Riley herself has also addressed the situation on Instagram, stating she is not offended and remains a fan of Peter Kay. Myar, however, maintains that Kay's comment was intentional and hurtful, expressing sadness that Lisa Riley has been implicated in the controversy.
