O2 customers hoping to use the Priority website to grab early release Peter Kay tickets have been left fuming today, Thursday, November 10, as the site crashed under demand.
The stand up announced that he would be back on tour after an absence of 12 years. Fans in Nottingham will able to catch the show at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on Friday, July 14, and Saturday, July 15, 2023 - that is if you can secure a ticket. Pre-release tickets for the legendary comedian's show have gone on sale today. However, the rush to see this comeback event caused O2 some major problems. Its Priority website and app crashed under the strain. The 10am release saw fans faced with a blank screen and a message that read: "Error. There was a problem and we've been notified." Other users have been logged out of the site completely and unable to reload.
According to the Express, fans have been taking to social media to complain. One Peter Kay fan said: "Cheers #O2Priority for not even allowing me to log in after you logged me out while waiting for #peterkay ticket." Whilst another added: "Your priority website is down O2 - can you sort this please asap to deliver on your promise!"
O2 has now apologised for the problems with the network, saying it is seeing "unprecedented demand". In a message posted on social media, O2 said: "We’re seeing unprecedented demand for Peter Kay tickets & we know a lot of you can’t access Priority. Sorry, we’re working on it. Please be patient; this is by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for Priority Tickets in 15 years. The presale lasts for 48h so keep checking.
