Beloved comedian Peter Kay was seen enjoying a relaxed outing in London, just days before his next performance in Manchester. The sighting comes after a successful run on his Better Late Than Never tour, which has seen him perform across the UK over the past three years.
Comedian Peter Kay looked relaxed as he was spotted on a rare public outing. The beloved comedian, who recently delighted fans with his comeback on TV for the Wallace and Gromit Christmas special, was seen enjoying a walk in London amidst his Better Late Than Never tour. The tour has seen the star perform across the country over the past three years. Peter, 51, was seen climbing aboard his tour bus at London 's O2 Arena, gearing up to head to Manchester for his next gig on 7 February.
After some time away from the spotlight, the star's slimmer frame was evident as he donned a simple black fleece and blue jeans, complete with a backpack and hat. Peter took a step back from the public eye after cancelling his tours in 2018 and 2019, pausing his career during that period and rarely being seen. At the time of his tour cancellation, he expressed his deep regret with the statement: 'Due to unforeseen family circumstances I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects. This unfortunately includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance For Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments', reports the Mirror. 'My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you'll understand my family must always come first. I've always endeavoured to protect my family's privacy from the media. I hope that the media and the public will continue to respect our privacy at this time. Once again I'm very sorry.' He was next seen at a surprise charity showing of his TV hit Car Share in 2018, before being spotted on a tram tour in Blackpool in April 2019. In April 2020, Peter made a star turn on the BBC's Big Night In for a remake of Tony Christie's Amarillo music video, setting the stage for his comeback performance in Manchester and Liverpool in April 2022.After hitting the comedy circuit once more, Peter returned to full-swing touring in late 2022. During his first live comedy tour in over a decade that November, he found himself overwhelmed with emotion as he received a lengthy standing ovation, while the audience chanted his name on opening night. Peter's comedy return has been a huge success – according to US analytics firm Pollstar's official tour earnings breakdown, his 35-show run in 2024 earned him a jaw-dropping £27 million and securing the Better Late Than Never tour its spot as one of the last year's most successful global tours. It also placed him fourth amongst the world's highest-earning comedians. Peter is the first artist ever to hold a monthly residency at The O2 in London with 45 shows there, more than any other artist in the venue's history. His Better Late Than Never tour was initially set to conclude in December 2025, but due to 'overwhelming demand,' an additional 21 performances were announced in November. This extension means the tour will now run until February 2026, with new gigs in Aberdeen, Liverpool, and Cardiff, and will wrap up on the Isle of Man
