The interim boss is targeting glory at Hampden before Jimmy Thelin steps into the hot seat.
Stepping into the Aberdeen manager’s job has given Peter Leven sleepless nights but now he is dreaming of Scottish Cup glory.
It has been 34 years since Aberdeen last lifted the cup. Could it provide Aberdeen and Leven with a silver-lining to this, so far, disappointing season? “There is a big prize there as it is the Scottish Cup,” Leven stated. “I have said that to the boys that are not familiar with it, that it is a huge trophy in Scottish football to win.
Leven has enjoyed the experience of being his own man and this will be his big moment. He admitted: “I’ve really enjoyed it. Sleepless nights at times. I’m not going to lie to you. Leven could have another long night as he tries to come up with a game plan that can hurt Celtic and cause Brendan Rodgers issues. He said: “He has coached in the Premier League and every time I have met him after a game he is a really nice guy.
“We are ranked one in conceding goals in the last five games and we will need that on Saturday as Celtic are a top team. So we are going to have to rely on defending at times. However we are going to bring our own game and hopefully hurt Celtic’s defence as well.” “Celtic are a top team but we have a game plan and can hopefully cause them some problems. The Viaplay Cup final wasn’t a great game from both teams.
