After yet another fatal mauling by an XL Bully dog, a witness says: “I don’t know what set the dog off, everyone is speculating.” I can't imagine why. When a breed is bred and re-bred purely for size, power and attacking and killing, there's surely no surprise when it attacks and kills.
I wonder whether the axing of HS2 reflects a deeper malaise in our railways, with customers losing patience with an endless succession of strikes. No matter how just their cause, the strikers make it impossible to plan a journey, yet they expected us to bung £100 billion or more into high-speed trains for their pleasure. Sorry, but no new toys for naughty boys.
