The Philippine para chess team struck gold once again on the last day of the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China when three players all won gold in their respective events.
Philippine national master Darry Bernardo captured the gold medal at the men's individual rapid VI B2/B3 event on Thursday, with Gayuh Satrio of Indonesia getting the silver medal and Kishan Gangolli getting the bronze. This is his second gold medal, after winning a gold in a team event with fellow gold medalist Menandro Redor and Arman Subiste.
Lawyer Cheyzer Mendoza won her second gold medal in the Asian Para Games, after winning the women's individual rapid P1 event, with Indonesians Lilis Herna Yulia and Nasip Farta Simanja getting silver and bronze, respectively. Mendoza earlier won gold at the Individual Standard P1 event on Thursday, October 26.
