THE Philippines reported 983 cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases from March 6 to 12, a slight increase over the past week, according to the Department of Health (DoH).
In its case bulletin released on Tuesday, the DoH reported an average daily caseload of 140 cases per day, while there had only been one reported severe and critical case.It was an increase of 8 percent from February 27 to March 5, when 913 cases were reported or an average of 130 cases per day.Fifty-eight deaths were also verified during the past week, with most reported in 2021 and the rest in 2022.Bed utilization across the country continues to be low, with 17.
1 percent, or 2,916 beds occupied out of 17,075 available non-intensive care unit Covid-19 bed allocation while out of 1,982 Covid-19 ICU beds, 13.4 percent, or 265 are occupied.Total severe and critical admissions as of this week are at 351, or 9.2 percent of the total number of those hospitalized for Covid-19.With the shift to vaccine reporting, the country logged a 100.4 percent coverage among the target population, or equivalent to 78.43 million who have received the first two doses and 23.
