Philippines to donate Covid-19 vaccine doses to other countries
TO AVOID wastage, the Philippine Government will donate coronavirus disease vaccine doses to other countries in need of it, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
He said the government is eyeing to donate Covid-19 vaccines to Myanmar, Cambodia and several countries in South Africa. Duque said AstraZeneca has already applied to the Food and Drugs Administration for a three-month extension of shelf life of their vaccines.The National Government launched on Thursday, March 10, the fourth leg of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” to further boost the vaccination coverage in the country.
Among the regions with still low vaccination coverage are the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao , Central Visayas, Soccsksargen and Mimaropa.
