The Dutchman is taking charge of pre-season training at the AXA Training Centre ahead of his first season as head coach of the Reds. Liverpool will travel to the United States later this month for a series of friendly fixtures across the Atlantic against Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Reds No.20 will now enjoy a summer break before returning to Merseyside for pre-season training. “For two reasons: One, you want to get in the team, you want to get into the starting XI, you want to be one of the three that we think is going to be playing up-front.
