Xurpas’ board of directors on Friday, June 3, elected Joey Gurango as chair and chief executive officer, replacing Nix Nolledo, who voluntarily resigned.Gurango has a career in the technology industry spanning four decades, where he worked at Apple and Microsoft in the United States in the 1980s. Starting as a software developer at Microsoft, he eventually served as Asia-Pacific director of products and services for Microsoft Business Solutions in the early 2000s.
Gurango also founded Match Data Systems in Seattle in 1987, MDS Philippines in 1991, MDS Australia in 1996, and Gurango Software in 2003. Both MDS and Gurango Software were acquired by Great Plains Software and Kation Technologies, respectively. “Between new technologies such as web3, and the urgency for all companies to digitally transform their business, there’s huge unmet demand for the kind of services we provide, both locally and internationally. I’m excited to lead Xurpas and unlock all these opportunities that are ripe for the taking,” said Gurango.
