The Philippines recorded 2,114 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the highest daily tally in more than six months, according to Department of Health data.
The number of recoveries increased to 4,029,461, while the death toll remained at 66,453.
Among the regions with the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 8,164, followed by Calabarzon with 4,313, Central Luzon with 1,331, Western Visayas with 965, and Bicol Region with 661.As of Thursday, the national bed occupancy rate was 19.7%, with 5,021 occupied and 20,487 vacant beds.VBL, GMA Integrated News
