MLB insider Jon Heyman of The New York Post was on the news of the agreement between the two sides.Sánchez has been a big reason why the Phillies hold the best record in all of baseball this season and the team has noticed his value.
Sánchez's jump in just a year has been extremely impressive, going from an ERA of 3.44 over 19 appearances last season for the Phillies to being a dominant, shut-down arm. He produces one of the highest ground-ball rates in the big leagues, making life tough on opposing hitters whenever he's on the mound.He made his MLB debut in 2021 for the Phillies, posting an ERA of 5.47 over 22 appearances. His rise has been one for the ages and the Phillies are thankful for his development.
