Former This Morning star Phillip Schofield has announced that his 'magnificent' mum Pat has died at the age of 85, after a 'heartbreaking weekend' for the TV presenter
Phillip Schofield has shared the tragic news that his mother Pat has died. The TV presenter, who recently appeared on Channel 5 reality show Cast Away, took to Instagram to share the emotional update on Monday evening. Posting a series of touching photos with his mum, the devastated star penned: "Today, at 3pm and after a heartbreaking weekend, my magnificent mum decided it was time to go to her beloved Brian.
While he didn't reveal the cause of her death, Phillip had previously opened up about his mother's health struggles during his stint on Channel 5's Cast Away last month. The former This Morning host was stunned when both his mum and brother were diagnosed with the same serious health condition, reports the Mirror.
In a candid conversation with Health Awareness, Phillip revealed: "My brother and mother are both Type 1 diabetics and have been for the last 25 years, so it is something that as a family we are very used to. If either of them have a hypo , we can recognise the signs and we know what to do. My mum goes particularly bonkers when she goes low, so when she starts talking nonsense we know what's happening.
