She reveals results of a survey conducted at ITV, saying that 89% of people who work on the channel's daytime output are"proud" to work there and 80% are happy with how their manager motivates them. She admits"everything was not glowing but these are strong scores".'We do not accept bullying or harassment'Dame Carolyn McCall, ITV's chief executive, says she does not think the hearing would be happening if the channel was not a public service broadcaster.
Their"focus on welfare" was no doubt a key priority, particularly in recent years after the death of Love Island presenter Caroline Flack.Dame Carolyn McCall confirms ITV is still in touch with Phillip Schofield and he is having counselling. She says there was no investigation but an"ongoing review" of the situation - every time there were periods of"intense speculation", they would ask more questions.
Speaking of rumours around Phillip Schofield, Dame Carolyn McCall says:"There was a lot of very very horrible stuff out there." The younger colleague was asked the question 12 times, ITV's general counsel Kyla Mullins says. Both he and Schofield repeatedly denied an affair, and logs of conversations were kept.
