An officer with the Philadelphia Police Department was shot while conducting a traffic stop in Kensington on Saturday, according to officials.

All of the people in the vehicle, and the person of interest in connection to the shooting, are in custody, Commissioner Kevin Bethel said.A Philadelphia police officer is fighting for his life after he was shot in the city's Kensington neighborhood on Saturday, according to police.

A man in the car fled the scene and fired his gun three times at the officers, striking one of them in the neck, Bethel said.The injured officer was taken to a nearby hospital, police said. He is currently in the surgical ICU and listed in critical condition.All of the people in the vehicle, and the person of interest in connection to the shooting, are in custody, Bethel said. Police are not looking for any other suspects.
