The Philippine Statistics Authority opened the Philippine Identification System registration to Filipino children one to four years old.
The PSA said the rollout of the service is part of its continued efforts to register more Filipinos to PhilSys, including minors. “We encourage parents and guardians to join us in taking the step towards a makabagong Pilipinas for the next generation by registering their children ages 1 to 4 to PhilSys,” said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa, national statistician and civil registrar general.
“The PSA is continually making efforts to make the registration process child-friendly; our registration personnel are ready to assist our young registrants and their parents in the process,” Mapa said. It said that to register a child one to four years old, a parent or guardian who is already PhilSys-registered should be present. The PhilSys Number or permanent identification number of the child that will be generated will be linked to the accompanying parent or guardian.Guardians should present supporting documents to validate demographic information of the child.
